Idea to Support Our Military
Rolling Greens in Ocala offers this:
“Operation Shoe Box” – care items are donated for the US troops overseas. Monthly, these items are collected and packed by volunteers and are shipped overseas. Donations are accepted for care items, time donations for packing, and cash donations for shipping charges. The service men and women often write letters of thanks for these donations! At Rolling Greens, resident Kaye Loper heads up this wonderful project. If this is something you would like to do at your community, contact:
Operation Shoe Box
P O Box 1465
Belleview, FL 34421-1465
352-307-6723 fax 352-347-7103

Helpful Hint: Moving without hiring a mover:
There are many hidden costs when you move yourself. Consider these: How are you getting to your new location? (What kind of vehicle?) Will you need to make several trips? (How much do you have to move?) Where will you spend the night? (Do you have lodging planned?) Planning ahead can save impulse or unnecessary expenses.

A Bit of Humor:

Think about what lifestyle you want. Here are some things to consider:
1. What city?
a. distance to your interests
2. What kind of community – land lease - land owned - resident owned?
a. What are the differences between these?
3. What does the community offer? (How active do you wish to be?)
a. activities offered?
b. amenities?
c. gated?
d. pet friendly?
Mary Blair at Newby Realty can help with your initial questions! mary.blair@newbyrealty.com or call 941-721-0046
Helpful Hint:
Cut S.O.S. pads in half. Not only is this economical, you do not have to store a “half used” pad. Just toss the used half portion after your use. The additional plus to cutting them with your scissors is that you sharpen the scissor blades, as well!
Quote of the week:
“A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.” ~ Andy Rooney
Bit of Humor:
"I put contact lenses in my dog's eyes. They had little pictures of cats on them. Then I took one out and he ran around in circles." ~ Steven Wright
"You can say any fool thing to a dog, and the dog will give you this look that says, `My God, you're right! I never would've thought of that!'" ~ Dave Barry
"My dog is half pit bull, half poodle. Not much of a watchdog, but a vicious gossip!" ~ Craig Shoemaker

Welcome to Newby Realty Blog! Some info to ponder...
News from Hawaiian Village in Bradenton:
The wonderful Christmas party given each year is still on the minds of all who attended it! The residents, Newby Management, Sam’s and Wal-Mart all contributed to make this a Christmas for 29 needy children that would have not had a Christmas otherwise! Many thanks to Ms. Annabelle Barr for her heart felt spirit and time to make this a success! It certainly was a wonderful, touching party! Seeing the children’s faces light up was something one can’t easily forget!
Highland Estates in DeBary offers this bit of information:
The Knights of Columbus are looking for families with citrus trees that need to be picked. Volunteers will pick the fruit, leave half of it for the owner and distribute the rest to two dozen local charities. Call Highland Estates resident Tom Pawlicki 386-668-5448 if you are interested.
This is a great idea – interested in doing this at your community? Call Tom to see if he has ideas for you to begin!
Helpful Hint:
Wrap celery in aluminum foil and it will last for weeks in the refrigerator.
Quote of the week:
"When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost, when character is lost, all is lost.” ~ Billy Graham
A Bit of Humor - Ponder These:
Does a clean house indicate that there is a broken computer in it?
Why is it that no matter what color of bubble bath you use, the bubbles are always white?
Is there ever a day mattresses are not on sale?
