Breakfast = "Break" the "Fast"
Over the night, we go without food for 8 to 12 hours. Our blood sugar levels drop during this "fast". Eating breakfast not only aids in weight management, it fuels the body to help provide energy, better concentration and problem-solving ability throughout the day, according to the food and nutrition experts at the American Dietetic Association. If you are watching your weight, eat breakfast. It helps keep the metabolism going. Cranky and irritable in the morning? Eat breakfast, it will help. (...and those around you will be glad you did!)
Any menu works for breakfast. The typical choices of eggs, toast, juice, cereal, milk, coffee, tea, fruit, granola, yogurt - are all ideal choices. The untraditional choices of things like lunch or dinner selections or leftovers also work. Just eat!
IHOP French Toast - an "exciting" breakfast choice!
2 eggs 1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c milk 3 tsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla 6 slices thick French bread
3 T all-purpose flour 1 T. powered sugar
Beat the eggs in a large shallow bowl. Add the milk, vanilla, flour and salt to the eggs. Beat the mixture with an electric mixer. Be sure all the flour is well combined. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. When the surface is hot, add about a tsp. of butter. Dip the bread, a slice at a time, into the batter, being sure to coat each side well. Drop the bread in the hot pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until the surface is golden brown. Repeat with the remaining pieces of bread. Cut each piece of toast in half diagonally. Arrange six halves of the toast on two plates by neatly overlapping the slices. Sprinkle about 1/2 tsp. of powdered sugar over the tops of the toast slices. Serve with butter and syrup on the side. ~ From Winterset RV Resort's April newsletter - from Top Secret Restaurant Recipes by Todd Wilbur.

"'When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,' said Piglet at last, 'what's the first thing you say to yourself?' 'What's for breakfast?' said Pooh. 'What do you say, Piglet?' 'I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?' said Piglet. Pooh nodded thoughtfully. 'It's the same thing,' he said." ~ A. A. Milne, 'The House at Pooh Corner'
